Club Runs

Ystwyth have a club run to suit all abilities. The Club Runs are generally more popular through the winter months as some members will turn up. This page is intended as information only about rides that meet regularly and are attended by club members. Riders (members and non-members) taking part in these rides, do so at their own risk and Ystwyth CC shall not be liable in the event of any accident that may occur on them.

Saturday Mornings:
Meet outside the Renault garage at Southgate at 9.30am. Normally lasts a couple of hours

Sunday Mornings:
Leaves from Plas Crug Leisure Centre at 9am. These rides are generally shorter and easier in the autumn and gradually get longer and harder as the winter goes on, although there is a history of rides being ripped-up from the off.

Thursday Night Chaingang (Summer Only):
Leaves from Plas Crug Leisure Centre at 6.30pm.
The route is out to Lovesgrove Roundabout, turn left through Capel Dewi to Bow Street where turn right onto A487 and head north through Rhydypennau, Tal-t-bont and Taliesin to Tre Ddol. Turn left to Ynyslas and Borth before returning to Rhydypennau and turning left to retrace to finish at the entrance to the Glan-yr-Afon Industrial Estate.
The idea of the chaingang is simple. Th emphasis is on developing through-and-off technique and NOT the speed of the group until the turn at Tre Ddol. From here its a free-for-all race to the end at the 40mph sign before the Glan-yr-Afon Industrial Estate turning.

Rider Notes

  • The group won't wait if you get dropped or have a puncture.
  • Newcomers will need a good level of fitness as it is a fast, hard ride
