I have now got 34 pre-entries for the race, which is the best I’ve had for a long time. With a few more EOLs I now anticipate about 40 riders, depending on the weather. There is a slight issue with new tarmac that has just been put down on the road between Pontrhydygroes and Devil’s Bridge with loose chippings, but the Highways Maintenance office told me that the loose chippings would be swept up.
I am preparing the race programme in the next few days, and will send it out to all of you asap.

I now have the following preliminary organisation of the race:
Date: August 31st, 12 noon start, helpers, please be there by 11-11:15.
Finish: Capel Seion, probably about 14:45 for the winner.
HQ: Plascrug Leisure Centre (probably for the last time – Llanfarian village hall a better option, but too late to change for this year)

Lead car 1 and 2: Two from Andrew Davies, Colin Armstrong and Tim Johnson.
First aid: Gail Birkett possibly plus Ray as driver?
Broomwagon: Michael Tarlings Father in Law (Sorry, Michael, I don’t know his name)
Primes and finish judge: Glyn Evans
Marshals:

Dewi Hughes? (Not sure if racing or marshalling)

Ken Williams? (May have other commitment)

Even counting Dewi and Ken, we are still a couple of marshals short, so if anybody is able to help, please let me know by e-mail or phone (01970 823133 work; 01970 880729 home). Don’t worry if you have not marshalled before – you will be together with and experienced marshal who will give you instructions.

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far. We are dependent on you to make the race possible. Let’s hope the weather changes for the better on August 31st.

Volunteers are what allows Cycling event's to be held, without the required help there will be no event's. This club has 60+ members so it shouldn't be hard to get the numbers required. See Leif at one of the club TT's, or leave a message somewhere on here.
